Thighs, Knees & Buttocks Liposuction*

What are the areas of thighs that can be contour with VASER?

Dr. Hasan Ali prefers to do VASER liposuction on the area of thigh marked with yellow color.

What are the aims of lower limb VASER procedure?

The goal of liposuction of the thigh, legs or ankle should be an aesthetically pleasing and natural looking result. Excessive liposuction should be avoided. How is the inner thigh liposuction performed? There are special VASER probes and suction cannulas that can help contour the inner thigh to achieve exceptionally smooth results. Inner thigh liposuction can significantly reduce the rubbing together of the inner thighs. Ideally, there should be no significant lumpiness or irregularity of shape. What is the maximum amount of fat that can be aspirated in one procedure?Dr.Hasan Ali prefer not to take out fat which is more than 5-6% of the body weight.

So if a patient is 80 Kg, 4 liters of fat is usually taken out in one stage but there are conditions when there is a need of mega liposuction to relieve severe symptoms resulting from huge fat deposition.

A recently published study in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal found that VASER Lipo significantly limits blood loss during liposuction when compared to traditional liposuction alone. The authors concluded that VASER-assisted lipoplasty should be recommended over traditional suction-assisted lipoplasty for patients undergoing large-volume liposuction procedures or treatments in very fibrous areas of the body where increased blood loss is expected.

Where can I get my thigh liposuction surgery done?

Dr. Hasan Ali has the thigh liposuction surgery facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and in Riyadh, Saudi Arabi. You can also get your thigh liposuction procedure in Karachi, Pakistan.

Under chin and in front of / behind ears (bilaterally). Possible bilaterally in the neck at the lowest anticipated level of treatment.

3 – Infusion
Areas which require treatment is infused with a small diameter BLUNT infusion cannula with wetting solution containing local anesthesia and epinephrine.

4 – Emulsification
A very sophisticated VASER probe of 2.2 mm diameter is used for this stage.

5 – Aspiration

Suction starts with 2.4 mm cannula with gentle port patterns. Gentle use of suction only to remove the emulsified fluids and tissue. Expected aspiration volumes are 50 cc to 250 cc depending on infused volume, size of patient, and areas treated.

What are the Post-operative Care steps?

The key is gentle, even compression to help the skin redrape and settle into position and to prevent ripples or folds in the skin.

We consider the following options: cotton pads with elastic wraps, cold compresses, and silicone foam padding.

Elastic face garments typically applied for 4-6 days, then overnight for 1-2 weeks, depending on preference.

Keep head elevated at night.

Abdomen, Flanks and Waist Liposuction with Vaser*

What is VASER contouring of abdomen, flanks and waist area?

The area mentioned above can be contoured with these specialized instrumentations. It emulsifies fat and contour abdomen, flank and waist area of both male and female.

What kind of Anesthesia is given for abdomen, flank and waist area liposuction?

Small to medium size area can be managed under local anesthesia with or without some sedation. When Larger areas and increased volume of liposuction is performed then it is best to carry out the procedure under General anesthesia.

What are the steps of the procedure?

  • Incision: There are multiple tiny stab incision of about 0.5 cm size at lower abdomen, groin, and above the belly button to access the probe and cannula of VASER.
  • Infusion: Fluid containing local anesthesia is infused at the site of the procedure. The amount of fluid depends on the site and size of the procedure.
  • VASER: This stage utilizes the special form of probes that emulsifies the fat into liquid form of fat that is much easier to aspirate.
  • Suction: Suction stage starts with specialized suction cannulas which help contour and aspirate the melted fat.

How long is the procedure?

It takes about 1-2 hours to complete whole abdomen and flanks.

Is it painful after the procedure?

VASER liposelection of the abdomen is well tolerated by most of the patients. There are reports of very minimal discomfort after the procedure. Most of the routine work can be resume right away.

When can I see my results?

Some results can be seen immediately but there are continual changes that can be visible over the period of next few months, final results can take up to 3-4 months.

How is the skin retraction achieved after VASER liposuction?

The thinner the subcutaneous fat the greatest retraction is achieved. VASER solid probe works close to the dermis, to thin the subcutaneous fat, and achieves contraction. There is also theory suggesting that there is collagen contraction due to heat injury.

What are the possible side effects or complications?

VASER liposelection is very safe procedure but following complications can be seen:

  • Infection
  • Seroma formation
  • Temporary numbness
  • Asymmetry

Who is the good candidate?

Patients with mild to moderately heavy arms.

What about excess skin after the procedure?

Most of the patients experiences significant skin retraction after the VASER procedure.

What type of Anesthesia usually given?

VASER for Cellulite*
VASER smooth probes are specially designed to treat cellulite particularly in buttocks and thighs areas of young females. This has shown to improve this condition to some extent.
Cellulite assessment and treatment is still controversial because of the lack of significant evidence that supports its physiology and way of treatment. Treatment can vary from using simple cream to extensive liposuction techniques. This wide variation of treatment modality is available due to lack of significant evidence available in unified standardization of treatment. Selecting the treatment regimen can be based on physician choice and based on his/her experience of treating cellulite.
Further large size study may be helpful in the future to establish some protocol of management for this illusive condition
Gynecomastia With VASER*

How VASER liposuction of male breast is better than traditional liposuction?

Unlike traditional liposuction VASER technique has special probes for gynecomastia correction that can aggressively emulsifies both fat and glandular tissue of male breast. Therefore in large number of patients it can save an open surgical method, post-operative scaring, faster recovery and minimal post-operative pain.

How VASER liposelection of Gynecomastia treatment is performed?

The main steps of the procedure comprises of:
1 – Superficial and deep layers infiltration with wetting solution (anesthesia fluid).
2 – VASER selective emulsification of adipose and glandular tissue and superficial undermining with VASER probe.
3 – After completing removal of emulsified tissue, flap thinning, verifying full undermining with no zones of adhesion remained.
4 – A post-operative garment needs to wear for 4-6 weeks.
